Terms of Service
Last updated: August 2026
These terms govern your use of PollVey. By creating an account or using the app or this website, you agree to them. They describe what PollVey does, what you are responsible for, and what happens with money, moderation and deletion. Where PollVey cannot do something, that is stated as a limitation rather than left to be assumed.
1. Purpose of PollVey
These terms are an agreement between you and PollVey, and they cover the PollVey applications for iOS and Android and the PollVey website at pollvey.com (together, the "Service"). If you do not agree to them, please do not use the Service.
PollVey is a social polling and survey platform that helps individuals and organizations gather opinions and make better decisions. It allows you to create polls and surveys, gather opinions, collect feedback, make informed decisions, build Poll Groups (Personal Accounts) and Audience Groups (Business Accounts), discover public profiles, participate in communities, and share ideas respectfully. PollVey exists to encourage respectful communication, constructive feedback, and data-driven decision making.
Questions about these terms go to support@pollvey.com, which is also where legal notices should be sent.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use PollVey, or older where your country sets a higher minimum. Accounts belonging to users aged 13–17 receive protective settings that are enforced on PollVey's servers and cannot be configured away by the account holder, and a linked guardian may apply further controls. Those protections are described in the Privacy Policy and the Community Guidelines.
3. Your account
You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information and for activity that happens under your account. Sign-in uses your email address and a password of at least six characters, together with one-time codes sent to your email address; keep both your password and your email account secure.
PollVey does not currently offer two-factor authentication for user accounts.
4. Personal Accounts and Business Accounts
PollVey has two kinds of account.
Personal Accounts
Personal Accounts may create polls and surveys, build Poll Groups, follow and connect with other people, participate in polls, and complete surveys. Personal accounts are unmetered: they never consume Poll Credits, and no subscription is required to use them.
Personal Accounts may not use Business features, may not misrepresent a business, and may not be used for commercial spam.
Business Accounts
A Business Account requires a business email address; consumer email domains are rejected at signup. Business Accounts may create business polls and surveys, build Audience Groups, send content to audiences they are authorised to contact, view analytics, export results, and purchase Poll Credits.
If you use a Business Account, you are responsible for having permission to contact the recipients you add, and for complying with the laws that apply to electronic communications and marketing where you and your recipients are.
5. Organizations, roles and membership
Business Accounts belong to an organization, which PollVey identifies by the lowercased domain of the business email address. The first verified business user of a domain becomes the organization's administrator.
- Members hold one of four roles — business_admin, manager, editor or viewer — and each role grants a defined set of capabilities. Only an administrator may manage billing, subscriptions, Poll Credit purchases, invitations, roles, ownership transfer and member removal.
- Membership has a status: approved, pending, invited, declined or removed. Only approved members hold any business capability. A pending or invited member holds none.
- PollVey resolves roles and membership on the server from your signed-in account. The app never supplies them, so hiding a button is not what enforces a permission.
If an administrator deletes their account, administration passes to the most senior remaining approved member and the organization continues. If there is no approved member to hand it to, the organization closes and its remaining members lose access to it.
6. Polls, surveys and messages
You choose who can find and respond to each poll or survey, and when results become visible — live, hidden until the content closes, creator-only, or visible once someone has participated. A creator may also set a maximum number of responses and a closing time.
A survey can be set so its owner does not see who gave which answer. That setting changes what is displayed to other people; it does not make a response anonymous to PollVey, which keeps the link between an account and its response in order to reject duplicates and to meter Poll Credits correctly. Polls have no anonymous mode. This is explained in full in the Privacy Policy.
Direct messages and group messages are covered by these terms and by the Community Guidelines in the same way as any other content you send.
7. Content you create
You keep ownership of the content you create on PollVey. By posting content you grant PollVey the limited, non-exclusive rights it needs to host, store, process, display and otherwise operate and provide the Service to you and to the people you send content to.
PollVey's name, logo, software and branding remain PollVey's and may not be used without permission.
You are responsible for having the rights to what you upload, including any photo, video or audio file, and for any customer or employee contact details a Business Account imports.
8. Community Guidelines and acceptable use
The Community Guidelines are part of these terms and set out in detail what may and may not be posted, how moderation works, and what the consequences of a violation are. Where these terms and the Guidelines overlap, both apply.
PollVey is for lawful and respectful use — gathering opinions, market research, customer feedback, employee engagement, educational research, community voting, and social and family polls among them.
9. Prohibited conduct
You may not use PollVey for anything that breaks the law or violates the rights of other people. The following are prohibited:
- Harassment, bullying, threats, stalking and doxxing
- Hate speech and discrimination
- Fraud, scams, phishing, identity theft and impersonation
- Spam and platform manipulation
- Malware and malicious links
- Copyright infringement
- Illegal goods, illegal gambling and other illegal activity
- Violent extremism and terrorist content
- Sexual solicitation, sexually explicit content, exploitative or non-consensual intimate content, and human trafficking activity
- Any sexual content involving minors, any grooming of minors, and any attempt to evade the protections applied to teen accounts
- Attempting to obtain a second complimentary Business Trial for a business that has already had one
PollVey may not be used to discriminate against a person or group on the basis of race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, age, sex, gender, sexual orientation or any other protected characteristic, or to facilitate unlawful discrimination in employment, housing, education, lending, healthcare or any other context.
Lawful educational, medical and research discussion of sexual health may be permitted when it is presented appropriately.
Teen Safety Rule. Content is classified before delivery, and users aged 13–17 receive only content classified as Teen Safe. Adult, explicit, exploitative, discriminatory and otherwise unsafe content is blocked before it reaches them. Adults may interact with protected teen accounts only through approved relationships. Attempting to bypass these protections may result in immediate suspension or permanent removal.
PollVey has zero tolerance for child sexual exploitation or abuse. Content of that kind results in immediate removal and may be reported to the appropriate authorities where the law requires it.
10. Moderation
Content is checked by an automated classifier before it is published, and publication can be blocked. People also review reports and cases. Reports can be filed against polls, surveys, direct messages, group messages, users and businesses.
PollVey may remove content, close or delete polls and surveys, restrict features, suspend an account, and permanently terminate an account. Restrictions are recorded against a one-way identifier derived from your identity, which means a live sanction can reattach to a new account if the same person registers again — deleting an account is not a way to clear a suspension.
PollVey does not currently have an appeals button in the app, and these terms do not promise a process that does not exist. Section 13 of the Community Guidelines explains what to do if you disagree with a decision.
Where the law requires it, PollVey may cooperate with law enforcement in response to a valid legal request.
11. AI-assisted features
PollVey's AI features send the relevant content to a third-party AI provider for processing. They cover drafting and coaching, translation, the moderation classifier, and result insights for the creator of a poll or survey. The Privacy Policy sets out exactly what is sent and what is not.
- Authoring output is a draft. Text that an AI feature generates or improves for you is a suggestion you review, edit and choose to publish. PollVey does not publish content on your behalf.
- Moderation is automatic. The classifier runs before publication and can block content without a person looking at it first. This is the one place where an automated decision is applied to your content, and it is applied to protect other users.
- AI output can be wrong. Drafts, translations and insights are generated by a model and are not verified by PollVey. You are responsible for what you publish, including anything an AI feature helped you write.
12. The complimentary Business Trial
- Each verified business organization is eligible for exactly one complimentary 14-Day Business Trial. The trial belongs to the organization, identified by its business email domain — not to an individual user.
- No payment method is required to start the trial, and it is not charged.
- A new trial grants 50 complimentary Poll Credits.
- Users who join the organization while its trial is running share the same remaining time. They do not each receive a fresh 14 days.
- An administrator may cancel the trial. Access continues until the original trial end date and then stops. Cancelling does not restore eligibility for another complimentary trial.
- Deleting a Business Account does not restore complimentary trial eligibility, and neither does creating a new account for the same business.
None of this restricts a paid subscription. A business that has used its complimentary trial can subscribe at any time.
Business abuse prevention
To make "one trial per organization" enforceable, PollVey stores one-way hashes of the business name, email domain, phone number and address, together with a hash of a device identifier supplied by the app, and compares those hashes across organizations. PollVey may decline a further complimentary trial, or hold an application for review, where duplicate business details, domain history, account history, deleted-account history or other abuse-prevention signals indicate a prior trial. These records are kept after account deletion, which is what makes the rule effective.
13. Business subscriptions
An active Business subscription — or an active Business Trial — is required to create new business polls and surveys. There are four self-serve tiers, Starter, Team, Professional and Enterprise, each auto-renewing monthly or annually at the price shown in the app and in the store at the time of purchase. Every tier includes the same 14-Day Business Trial.
- Subscriptions are purchased and billed through Apple In-App Purchase or Google Play Billing and renew automatically until cancelled through your Apple or Google account.
- Starting a subscription requires a valid payment method on your store account. Subscriptions renew automatically each period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- If a subscription lapses, creating new business content stops. Your existing account, content and results are not deleted, and your Poll Credit balance is not cleared.
- Only an organization administrator may start, change, cancel or reactivate a subscription.
PollVey cannot cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription. Cancellation happens in your Apple or Google account settings, and only you can do it there. PollVey will never tell you a store subscription has been cancelled, because it is not able to cancel one.
14. Poll Credits
Poll Credits are prepaid consumable purchases used to meter responses to business content. Publishing is free. One Poll Credit is consumed when, and only when, all of the following are true:
- The author is a business account — personal accounts never consume credits.
- The response is valid, complete and saved.
- It is that participant's first response to that poll or survey.
- The respondent is not the author. The author's own first valid response to their own content counts toward the maximum-responses cap but is free.
Credits are never consumed by publishing or sending, by selecting recipients, by views, by incomplete or rejected responses, or by a duplicate or repeated submission from the same participant. Your balance is shown in your Business Dashboard, and PollVey notifies you as it runs low.
If the balance reaches zero, the content closes. This never moves the response deadline you set.
Poll Credits do not expire through inactivity — there is no expiry job and no time-based decay. Unused Poll Credits are forfeited if you permanently delete your account, and they are not refunded or transferred.
15. Purchases, verification and refunds
Every digital purchase is made through Apple In-App Purchase or Google Play Billing and is subject to that store's terms. PollVey never collects or stores your payment card number, bank details or billing address.
Purchases are verified on PollVey's servers before anything is granted, and each store transaction can be applied only once. A purchase that cannot be verified grants nothing — the check fails closed. If a purchase completed at the store but has not appeared in your account, contact support@pollvey.com.
Refunds are handled by Apple and Google under their own policies. PollVey does not process refunds for purchases made through those stores and has no automatic refund path of its own. Consumable purchases, including Poll Credits, are not restored automatically.
16. Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time from Settings in the app, and the Delete Account page explains the same process on the web. Before you confirm, the app shows you an assessment generated from your actual account. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
- Deleting your PollVey account does not cancel an Apple or Google subscription. Cancel it in your store account first, or it will keep charging.
- Unused Poll Credits are forfeited.
- Business Trial eligibility for the business is not restored.
- Financial, safety, moderation, invitation and trial-abuse records are retained, with your name, email address and phone number removed. The Privacy Policy lists them.
PollVey may also suspend or terminate an account for a serious or repeated violation of these terms or the Community Guidelines.
17. Service availability
PollVey does not promise that the Service will be available without interruption. Features may be added, changed or withdrawn, and maintenance and outages happen. Where PollVey withdraws a feature you have paid for, your remedy is through the store you purchased from, under section 15.
18. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, PollVey makes no warranties regarding:
- Service availability or uptime
- User-generated content, which reflects the views of its authors and not PollVey
- Third-party links or services accessed through the Service
- Uninterrupted, error-free or secure operation
PollVey does not endorse, and is not responsible for, content created by users. You use the Service at your own discretion and risk.
19. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PollVey and its officers, directors, employees and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the Service. To the extent liability cannot be excluded, PollVey's total liability is limited to the amount you paid to PollVey, if any, in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
20. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product changes. Material changes will be communicated in the app and reflected in the "last updated" date above.
21. Governing law
These terms are governed by the applicable law of your jurisdiction and any other law that applies to your use of the Service. Nothing in these terms removes any right you have under the mandatory consumer protection laws of the country in which you live.
